Our Story
Since 1996, Laser International, Worldwide Moving & Storage has been delivering peace of mind, helping individuals and families successfully navigate international moving and international relocation. Founded by J.P. Specht, who brought years of experience in the logistics and moving industry, the company began with a clear vision; to provide reliable, high-quality service for those moving overseas and moving abroad. Initially, our focus was on serving clients moving from Chicago to international destinations, building a strong local foundation with global reach. By 1999, Laser International was incorporated in the state of Illinois, laying the groundwork for steady growth and long-term success.
As the company grew, so did our capabilities, leadership, and geographic reach. In 2007, Ryan Specht joined the company, bringing a new generation of insight and innovation. In 2009, we acquired our first warehouse facility, expanding our ability to manage and store international shipments with greater efficiency and care. In 2011, we expanded our presence into New York and became BBB-accredited, further reinforcing our commitment to trust, transparency, and customer service. In 2013, we obtained our FMC license (No. 024579N), strengthening our ability to operate as a trusted international shipping provider. In September 2017, we became a member of IAM (International Association of Movers), further demonstrating our commitment to professionalism and global industry standards. Over the years, many experienced managers and team members have been added to the organization, enhancing our expertise and the level of service we provide.
Our expansion continued as demand for trusted international moving services grew. Following our New York expansion, we grew into Texas in 2019. By 2021, we were serving clients throughout the entire eastern United States. In 2022, we were awarded “Top Rated Mover” by SIRELO, a recognition we have maintained each year since. In 2023, we expanded our services across the entire nation, allowing us to support international relocations from anywhere in the country, and also achieved IAM Trusted status, further reinforcing our commitment to transparency, compliance, and excellence in the global moving industry.
In 2024, we moved into our new headquarters in Naperville, IL, USA, marking another important milestone in our continued evolution. In 2026, Ryan Specht assumed the role of President and CEO, leading Laser International into its next chapter while staying true to the values it was built on.
